The first great mass of copper which was extracted was Kansar Sarcheshmeh copper which was located in the southwest of Kerman.This mine which is considered

as one of the biggest mines in the world was discovered by Mr.Entezam in 1949.However,in the reports issued by forgein experts visiting the site from 1898 till 1942

the being of copper in that region was mentioned.after announcing the nationalization of the copper mines in 1972 the company of Kerman Sarcheshmeh mine was formed.

In 1973 the creation of Kerman Sarcheshmeh Copper complex started with the cooperation of the American company of Anakanda.In 1976 the company of Kerman Sarcheshmeh copper which was in charge of the whole copper mining affairs of Iran changed its name to the Company of national copper industries.
